FLEXIBLE LOCATION WITHIN THE UNITED STATES. GGJ’s team has worked
remotely for 15 years. During COVID-19 travel restrictions, all of our
programming and organizing work is happening remotely/online. Once travel
is not deemed a public health risk and restrictions are lifted, travel will
be required for this position on average 5-10 days per month in the U.S.,
and 15 days per year internationally. While the position is fully remote,
the employee must be based in the United States.
COMPENSATION: $65,000-$70,000. This position is full-time with potential
for long term based on evaluation after a three-month introductory period.
Benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance begin on the
first month after date of hire; 50% child medical insurance benefit
available. 401K after one year of employment. Generous PTO and vacation.

GRASSROOTS GLOBAL JUSTICE ALLIANCE (GGJ) IS AN ALLIANCE OF OVER 65 MEMBER
ORGANIZATIONS.
GGJ is organizing to build an agenda for power for Black, Indigenous,
Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander and working class white communities. We
understand that there are important connections between the local issues we
work on and the global context, and we see ourselves as part of an
international movement for global justice. GGJ focuses on bringing
grassroots organizations (GRO) into a long-term process of relationship
building, political alignment, and the development of transformational
leadership, particularly for working class women and gender-oppressed
Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian and Pacific Islander people. We weave and
bridge together U.S.-based GRO groups and global social movements working
for climate justice, gender justice, an end to war, and a just transition

POSITION SUMMARY: This position will plan, implement and coordinate
logistical support and language justice for GGJ programs. This position
will report to the Deputy Director, supervise Logistics staff, and be a
member of the Organizing Team. Once travel is not deemed a public health
risk and restrictions are lifted, travel will be required for this position
on average 5-10 days per month in the U.S., and 15 days per year
internationally. This position is a full-time, exempt position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
LEAD LOGISTICS PLANNING FOR PROGRAMS & EVENTS (60%)
* Lead operations forecasting and backward planning for GGJ programs in
line with political goals and values.
* Participate in Organizing Team meetings and planning meetings to ensure
alignment and support clarifying division of labor among the organizing
team.
* Lead backward planning and calendaring for programs in consultation with
staff.
* Coordinate with Finance & HR Director to track budget and expenses for
GGJ programs.
* Arrange contractors for program support (interpretation, translation,
graphic notetaking, childcare, healers, etc.)
* Work with local host committees to plan and implement programs, support
Logistics Associate to lead member logistics teams as needed.
* Create and distribute recruitment packets and track applications.
Support organizers to set up orientation calls and provide logistical prep
to participants.
* Lead logistical implementation, tracking of delegates and supplies, and
trouble-shooting during programs.
* In collaboration with Logistics Associate, determine logistics staff
attendance at major GGJ programs to lead logistical implementation.
* Run or support tech for online and in-person activities.
* Be aware of and on call for emergency response and contingency plans.
* Communicate with staff, members, and allies about needs for event
planning.
* Lead support for the Organizing Team in follow up from programs.
* Support creation, dissemination, and analysis of member evaluation
surveys.
* Support scheduling and implementation of report backs from programs.
* Support staff in documenting written program reports for website and
fundraising.
* Conduct and document evaluation and lessons on logistics.
LEAD LANGUAGE JUSTICE PLANNING FOR ALL PROGRAMS (25%)
* Work with the Organizing Team to create Language Justice (LJ) plans for
all programming.
* Coordinate Language Justice component for all GGJ programs:
* Coordinate and manage Language Justice workers to ensure LJ plans for in
person and online activities.
* Orient interpreters for each event.
* Accompany and support LJ workers during programs.
* Lead LJ evaluation after each major program.
* Ensure timely billing/invoicing by LJ workers
* Coordinate translation of necessary material for programs
* Keep the Organizing Team and Logistics staff updated on translation
needs for all programs.
SUPERVISE LOGISTICS STAFF (5%)
* Meet weekly or biweekly to review priorities and guide workplanning,
troubleshoot issues that arise, mentor in time management and planning.
PARTICIPATE IN GGJ TEAM (10%)
* Active and timely response on all communications (email, phone, texts,
messaging apps)
* Attend weekly virtual meetings with staff, members, and allies.
* Participate in and support preparation for quarterly in-person staff
meetings, annual Coordinating Committee meetings, and other events as
necessary.
* Compliance with GGJ remote working policies and procedures (calendaring,
availability online, response time to communications, receipts, etc.)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* At least 4 years experience coordinating logistics and Language Justice
in Black & Brown led social justice organizing.
* Political alignment with GGJ’s mission of grassroots internationalism.
* Experience in multi-racial, multi-generational, multi-cultural settings.
* Ability to forecast, plan and manage projects several months in advance,
and adapt plan implementation, from beginning of strategic planning to
closing out with program evaluation.
* Familiarity with concept and practice of Language Justice.
* Ability to work remotely, manage multiple work tasks, maintain attention
to detail and accuracy, and meet the pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced,
collaborative work environment.
* Flexibility and positive attitude, solution-oriented, and ability to
troubleshoot challenges.
* Ability to support a team-oriented environment; commitment to democratic
participation.
* Knowledge of common computer applications: MS Office, Google docs,
Dropbox, and Zoom video tele-conferencing systems.
* Willingness (and ideally excitement!) to travel (when permissible
according to COVID-19 travel restrictions): average 5-10 days per month in
the U.S., and 15 days per year internationally.
* Ability to occasionally work flexible hours (evenings and weekends),
including communicating with allies in other parts of the world in
different time zones.
* Driver’s license and liability insurance.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
* Familiarity with CRM systems and Database management (Powerbase).
* Ability to read, write and speak other languages besides English,
preferably Spanish.
