2019 ASAN Annual Gala Wednesday November 13, 2019 Washington Marriott at Metro Center Join us for our annual celebration and fundraising event at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, DC. Dinner and dessert will be served and a reception will precede dinner. Proceeds will support our advocacy work and programs for the coming year, and allow us to continue working to empower disabled people across the country.
We’re happy to announce that Connie Choi is receiving our Ally of the Year Award! Connie Choi co-leads the Protecting Immigrant Families, Advancing Our Future national campaign. The PIF campaign coordinates hundreds of different member organizations to fight against unjust laws and policies, such as the public charge rule that would discriminate against immigrants with disabilities and their families. The PIF campaign led the fight against public charge, and just this Friday, advocates secured a temporary block of the rule. Connie primarily oversees the field, education and mobilization strategy for the campaign. She is an attorney, advocate and consultant with over 15 years of experience in the legal, nonprofit, and government sectors, and has worked to defend the human and civil rights of stigmatized and under-represented groups to ensure equal access and opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds. We look forward to hearing from Connie at our annual gala and hope that you can come celebrate with us!
