Letter from the Chair

Hello fellow King County Young Democrats! Ballots are in the mail, and I hope you all are excited about voting this primary season! Don't forget to check out our endorsements ([link removed]) - if a candidate was endorsed, that means they met the approval of over 2/3 of our voting members at our endorsements meeting!

I also hope that you all will join us on at least one of KCYD's canvasses. We're supporting candidates all over King County, from Bothell to Federal Way, because we need to see progressive change happen everywhere, not just Seattle. We're incredibly excited to see Young Democrats running and carrying our progressive values into office, so let's get out and talk to some voters!

Finally, don't forget our first in-person meeting of the year. We are meeting the many Young Democrats who are running for office in South King County. SKC deserves diverse, progressive leadership to match its diverse, progressive population; next week, come meet the faces of youth leadership in South King County and talk about what unique challenges they face.

KCYD Monthly Meeting REDUX: Young Leaders of South King County

We’re having our first in-person meeting in over a year! Come join us out in Angle Lake Park. This park is accessible by public transit and is right next to the Angle Lake light rail station.

We’ll be inviting a number of candidates running in South King County that are under the age of 36 and putting the spotlight on them! This will be a great opportunity to meet and greet with other incredible young leaders in SKC.

So far, we’re having:

* Jake Simpson, running for Seatac City Council
* Clifford Cawthon, running for Kent City Council
* Carmen Rivera, running for Renton City Council

The King County Young Democrats are excited to support progressive change all over King County, and especially in Federal Way!

Both Renae and Saudia reflect the increasingly diverse population in South King County, and both Renae and Saudia are up against powerful incumbents. They’ll need our help to get elected; so let’s go talk to some voters about why they should vote for Saudia Abdullah and Renae Seam!

If you haven't heard of the Anti-Racist Communities Bothell slate of candidates this year, you are missing out on some of the most exciting candidates this year. Rami Al-Kabra, Jenne Alderks, and Han Tran are running to make Bothell an anti-racist, welcoming, and safe place for all! We're incredibly excited to endorse them, so let's make their election to elected office a reality.
