This just in, John:
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) just announced their Q2 fundraising haul: they raised $45 million — including $20 million in June — with an additional $55 million cash on hand.
John, that's a collective $25.1 million more than what the DCCC raised in Q2. These figures only prove that Democrats are falling behind Republicans when it comes to fundraising — and falling behind at a time when they need to be stepping up to protect majorities in the House and Senate in 2022.
The NRCC is determined to out-raise Democrats to take back the House majority and push the House to the right, undoing the work that Jamaal and other progressive leaders have been doing for the last year. Especially after the inaction they've seen at the hands of so many establishment Democrats in Congress, they understand the opportunity in 2022 — and they're acting on it now.
There's only one way to respond to this: we need to get mobilized ourselves. While many Republicans and establishment Democrats accept millions of dollars in big money donations from predatory corporate PACs and interest groups, Jamaal refuses to accept money from those sources. And our movement has proven time and time again that while they may have millions of dollars, we have something better: the power of the grassroots.
