Four-hundred billion dollars. That’s how much President Biden is working to invest in home care jobs across the country. Truly a game-changer.
Home health care workers do one of the hardest jobs in our society, taking care of neighbors and family members who otherwise could not care for themselves. This is a job that was essential during the pandemic, and home health care workers need the protections and benefits that they deserve. The American Jobs Plan would create over one million home health care jobs with living wages and union protections.
Our home health care workers need our help. Will you sign on to stand with millions of home care workers for better wages and better working conditions?
Caring for the most vulnerable in our society is a priority. But the system is broken. Care workers spend their time, sometimes as much as 80 hours a week plus emotional labor, for an average of $16,000 a year. They deserve better. This is one of the fastest growing industries in America, and an estimated 4.7 million home health care jobs will need to be added to this industry by 2028 in order to meet our aging population. We need to act now to ensure that these critical jobs, done primarily by women and women of color, receive fair pay for their work.
Will you sign on in support?
Thanks for standing with us in this critical work,
