John,
In case you missed my email last weekend, I wanted to take just one minute
today to tell you about the huge opportunity for progressives and
Democrats to expand Medicaid for more than 2.2 million Americans in need.
DFA members have been working hard to organize the movement it's going to
take to expand Medicaid and voters have already responded strongly to
their message in Oklahoma and Missouri.
But with Republican forces working overtime to deny people the healthcare
they need, the push to expand Medicaid will be a tough one and we need
your help to demand democratic leaders do whatever it takes to expand
Medicaid in the 12 remaining states.
Please take action to expand Medicaid today!

John,
Here’s something you probably didn’t know:
The American Rescue Plan created incentives for 14 states to join the rest
of the country and expand Medicaid immediately, covering more than 2.2
million Americans, creating over 1 million jobs, and adding more than $350
billion to their local economies over the next 3 years.
Republicans are doing whatever they can to stop it from happening.
Want to know the good news? We can expand Medicaid without them. In fact,
two of those states - Missouri and Oklahoma -- already did it!
The local progressive leaders and healthcare professionals worked together
to pass Medicaid Expansion by taking it straight to voters at the ballot
box and WON!
They provide a model for the 12 states left -- South Dakota, Florida,
Georgia, North Carolina, Kansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Wyoming, South
Carolina, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Texas -- to follow and overcome
Republican opposition by any means necessary.

It’s not just up to the states.
Congress can also close the Medicaid coverage gap without Republican
support using the process of budget reconciliation that only requires a
majority vote to win by including Senator Warnock’s Medicaid expansion
amendment in the American Jobs Plan reconciliation bill.
According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Medicaid
expansion in these 12 states would provide health coverage for more than
2.2 million Americans.
That’s 766,000 in Texas, 425,000 in Florida, and 275,000 in Georgia to
highlight a few of the biggest states. Even in a small state like South
Dakota, Medicaid expansion would cover more than 42,500 men, women, and
children in need.
There’s no time to waste. [ [link removed] ]Join us in calling on Democratic leaders
nationwide to close the Medicaid coverage gap and expand Medicaid in the
12 remaining states by any means necessary NOW.
