Friend,

Lockdown measures are easing for millions of us tomorrow, but the pandemic isn’t over.

People are still spreading harmfully false information that could affect choices we make about vaccines and masks. Can you help?

Yes, I’ll give £7.56 a month
I'll give another amount

This week, my colleagues fact checked a video of a woman who claims to be an attorney, making various false claims about the coronavirus–including that asymptomatic carriers of Covid do not spread disease, and that face masks can cause low levels of oxygen in the body.

Posts like this are made to look credible and get a lot of shares online, influencing more and more people's choices about their health.

Thanks to the help of our readers, we’ve been able to scrutinise hundreds of false claims about the coronavirus, and provide millions of people across the UK with accurate information over the last year.

But with lockdown easing for many of us, and coronavirus cases rising, we all face important choices that will depend on good information.

Monthly supporters, who give an average of £7.56 every month, are our best guarantee as independent fact checkers that people won't get caught out by false information.

With dangerously false claims spreading fast, can you help people stay safe and protected over the coming months?

Yes, I'll start a regular donation
I'll give another amount
We're so grateful to have you standing with us.
