Largest source of climate pollution in WA No Images? Click here John, Did you know that transportation is responsible for nearly half of Washington’s climate pollution? It’s also our largest source of pollution that causes lung disease, asthma, and upper respiratory illness. But we have the chance to do something about it. This fall, the four counties around Puget Sound; King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Kitsap can take a dig step forward to clean our air and reduce climate pollution. The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency just released a draft rule for a regional Clean Fuel Standard. This groundbreaking policy would take on climate pollution by decreasing the carbon intensity of fuels. This gives consumers more choices at the pump and cleaner ways for everyone to get where we need to go. Make sure your friends know this important action is happening: Watch our Clean Fuel Standard Video and share on social media! A Clean Fuel Standard give us cleaner homegrown fuel that keep more of our money in Washington and invests in local good paying jobs. This is a win-win-win for our state. The most important thing to do now is to spread the word about what a Clean Fuel Standard would mean for the Puget Sound region! Share the Clean Fuel Standard Video on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. For years the oil industry and big polluters have targeted low income neighborhoods and communities of color. They’ve forced them to carry the burden of pollution for too long and it’s time to hold them accountable. Washingtonians deserve choices for cleaner fuels that improve public health, reduce climate pollution, and support local economic development in rural communities.
