It's time to check your mailbox for your 2021 primary election ballot. This election will seem quiet compared to last year's busy federal election, but it is just as impactful to our communities and the environment.
Most of the offices up for election this year are local. You will elect candidates to Port Commissions, City Councils, County Councils, School Boards, and other local offices across the state. These positions have an important role to play in advancing local environmental progress. They decide how your community will address environmental concerns and will set a precedent for statewide action on issues of environmental justice and public health.
Here's what you can do to get ready to vote this year:
Have you moved or changed any of your information since the last election you voted in? Double check and update your information by logging into your voter portal. You can update this information online until July 26th. [[link removed]]Have you turned 17 or otherwise become eligible to register to vote? Register using the voter portal. [[link removed]] Check out WCV's endorsements to see if we have a recommendation for environmental champions in your area. [[link removed]] After the primary election, we will conduct another round of endorsements and will provide recommendations for the general election in November.Make sure your ballot is postmarked or in a ballot dropbox by the last day to vote on August 3rd.
