“He will be a spirit of justice to the one who sits in judgement, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.”
– Isaiah 28:17
Africa & Europe
Praise God for a fruitful meeting with representatives from the Romania Orthodox Church last week. Together with IJM Romania, they have developed a plan for creating a trafficking awareness resource, to be used by all Orthodox churches in Romania and the diaspora. Pray that this new resource will educate their communities and help protect those who are vulnerable to trafficking.
Latin America
Praise God for a great opportunity to meet with the Dominican Republic’s First Lady to present IJM’s work and discuss ways of partnering. The First Lady serves as the president of the Child and Adolescent Cabinet, which has the national mandate of coordinating and pushing forward public policies to advance children’s rights. Pray for this relationship to be fruitful to bring more protection and restoration from trafficking to children across the country.
South Asia
Please continue to pray for God’s comfort over IJM staff and the trafficking survivors we serve amid the ongoing pandemic. Praise God that COVID-19 infections are slowing — but please continue to pray for the healthcare system and other social services for vulnerable people. Pray for many IJM staff who have lost loved ones during the last few months. Pray that survivors who have lost jobs will be able to find dignified work once again as lockdowns lift. Above all, please pray for an end to this global pandemic and a safe return to “normal.”
Southeast Asia
Please pray for IJM Philippines' activities during the week of World Day Against Trafficking In Persons (July 30). Pray especially for ongoing preparations for the launch of their aftercare research paper, as it highlights the most effective forms of aftercare treatment for survivors of online sexual exploitation.
IJM HQ & Global Partners
IJM global headquarters is located in the United
States. IJM has Partner Offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, the
Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
Praise God that the Central America Women and Children Protection Act has been re-introduced in the Senate. While this is a big win, please join us in praying faithfully and regularly in the coming months for this bill to pass, as this will send much-needed support to help strengthen the criminal justice systems and better protect women and children in that region.
The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect
them, please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
