John,
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has set a deadline of this Wednesday for all 50 Democrats to support a new $3.5 trillion investment plan that will help working people afford healthcare, childcare, eldercare, college and housing, provide expanded child tax credits and help shift us to a clean energy economy.
President Biden and Senate Democrats want to pay for these investments by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share in taxes. No one making less than $400,000 will pay more in taxes.
Mitch McConnell has promised ‘a hell of a fight,’ and there are still some moderate Democrats on the fence.[1] That’s why we’ve been making calls all week into targeted Senate offices to line up the 50 votes needed to invest in our future―paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
John, we have to keep driving calls into Senate offices this coming week until we have the votes locked in. Can you rush a donation of $5 today to fuel our fight to win?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately:
Republicans are fighting tooth and nail to defend the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, even as the nation’s 713 billionaires have seen their collective wealth grow by an astronomical $1.8 trillion, or 60%, since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, according to Americans for Tax Fairness research.[2]
We’re demanding that Congress be bold; that Congress make the rich and corporations pay their fair share; and that Congress ease the burden of the high costs of healthcare, childcare, eldercare, college, housing and other needs of working people.
With a Wednesday deadline to line up the votes, can you rush a donation to Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund to help us fight for a budget and tax system that rewards work not wealth?
When the rich and corporations pay their fair share, we’ll begin building an economy that puts working people first.
Thank you for fighting for a future that includes all of us.
