Most finance teams aren’t totally transparent about this, but the only way a campaign is able to plan ahead is by projecting how much money there will be the following month.
For example, you might have heard that we’re finally opening our first official campaign office in Pittsburgh at the end of the summer. Well, the only reason we will be able to sign the lease in July is because, back in May, we were confident we had enough monthly donations coming in to cover the deposit.
We’re only going to keep growing from here — more campaign offices, more events, more organizers, more flyers, more clipboards, and more Funyuns.
But it really all depends on monthly donations, which is why I’m emailing you today. Like, if we can count on $10 from John in PA, then we’ll be that much more confident that we can hire an organizer in Blair County in the fall.
