In a shocking twist, Donald Trump Jr. is now the latest mouthpiece to aid the NRA and gun lobby’s million-dollar effort to use outright lies to fearmonger senators against supporting David Chipman, President Biden’s vastly qualified nominee to lead the ATF.

Nope, Trump Jr.’s claim is not based in fact. David Chipman has spent his life combating violent crime and striving to make America safer. He is a father, public servant, gun owner, and 25-year retired ATF agent. He knows exactly what needs to be done to properly oversee the gun industry and ensure our nation’s sensible gun laws are enforced – and that’s exactly why the NRA is pouring $2 million dollars into a misinformation campaign against his nomination.

Our Gun Violence Prevention Hero of the Week is James Santelle , former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and Board Vice President of the Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort (WAVE) Educational Fund.
