When we say that Republicans will do anything to keep Democrats from passing any part of our progressive agenda into law, it's not a conspiracy theory or a guess -- Republicans are just saying it out loud nowadays.
Take it from Trump-ally Congressman Chip Roy from Texas, who was caught on tape saying this at a recent meeting with a right-wing group called Patriot Voices:
“I actually say, thank the Lord. Eighteen more months of chaos and the inability to get stuff done. That's what we want."
John, the Republican Party -- from backbenchers like Chip Roy all the way up to national leaders like Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump -- has no plan to better the lives of their fellow Americans. They don't want to build back our crumbling infrastructure, create good paying union jobs for working people, or make health care more affordable and accessible.
All they know is how to create chaos to further their fight against Democrats.
The stakes in the 2022 midterms couldn't be higher. With the Senate at a 50-50 tie right now and the House narrowly divided, there is a real chance that Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy, and the rest of their obstructionist colleagues could be back in charge in Congress -- meaning NONE of President Biden's plans to rebuild a prosperous country would stand a chance of becoming a reality.
