John,

I am excited to announce that the People’s Party of Canada has formally launched the second phase of our candidate selection process for the 44th General Election!

Over the last 5 months, our small staff has been busy at work administering the first phase of candidate selection. I am proud to share with you today that after this first phase we have officially selected about 173 candidates across the country, representing just over 51% of ridings. There are 33 ridings still considered "in process" for one reason or another. Once these ridings are processed that will bring us up to about 60% of ridings filled.

If you’re interested in finding out if your riding has an official candidate, or who that candidate is, check out the newly launchedCandidate page on our website! <[link removed]>

We still have a lot of work to do to get the Party ready for the prospect of a snap election this Fall. We are aiming to select another roughly 130 candidates across the country by the first week of September in order to fill out our slate of 338 candidates.

If you are interested in applying to stand as our candidate for your riding, please click this link to complete our candidate application. <[link removed]>Please note, the application will be a completely online process. We will not provide paper applications. For this second phase, only the ridings without a candidate already in place will be included. If your riding is not included, it is because we have already selected our candidate there.

I want to leave you with a slightly adapted quote, often attributed to Edmund Burke...

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men and women to do nothing.”

Cheers,

-Max
