John,
Africa is facing a COVID crisis, cases are surging and the continent is
heading towards a catastrophe. John, will you sign our petition
encouraging President Biden to commit to sharing much needed vaccines with
low-income countries?

Vaccines are the key to ending the COVID pandemic, but only if we get
shots in arms around the world. As wealthy countries continue to hoard
doses, just 1% of people in low-income countries have received at least
one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Even worse, some wealthy countries are
discussing giving booster shots to their fully vaccinated populations
while half of the world’s population has yet to recieve a single shot.
It’s outrageous that a healthy, vaccinated American could receive a third
shot before a nurse or grandmother in South Africa could get a single jab.
And, if wealthy countries continue to hoard their billions of excess
vaccine doses, more variants will emerge and more preventable deaths will
occur.
It’s urgent for the United States to commit to sharing more vaccines. The
Biden administration has committed to sharing 580 million doses globally,
but the US government has purchased enough vaccine doses to vaccinate 100%
of the American population, including children, and still have hundreds of
millions of doses left over.
Action is needed now. Sign our petition to tell President Biden to share
vaccines!
