SUBJ: What it will take to protect the Democratic House Majority

If history is any indicator, it will be challenging -- but possible -- to protect the Democratic House Majority in the 2022 election cycle. We’re up against four major difficulties:

1. The midterm curse: A first-term president’s party nearly always loses seats in the midterm elections.

2. Redistricting: Republican map-rigging could put the GOP in line to take the Majority before a single vote is cast.

3. Record-setting Republican fundraising: They are beating fundraising records left and right -- which means more money for them to attack Democrats.

Razor-thin Majority: Our Democratic Majority is effectively four seats right now -- so we can’t afford to lose a single seat.

We’re counting on our most active grassroots Democrats to help us raise the funds urgently needed to meet these challenges.

Here’s why we are hopeful: House Democrats have passed some incredible legislation that improves the lives of hard-working Americans across the country. The GOP is the party of QAnon and Donald Trump, while we have amazing, inspiring leaders like President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

And we have incredible Democrats across the country that we know we can rely on. [

Here’s what it is really going to take to defend our Democratic Majority: [[link removed]]

-- We can’t just play it safe and play defense -- we have to go on offense against Trump’s Republicans and take back some of the territory they turned red in 2020. These are seats that were blue in the recent past -- and they can turn blue again.

-- We must protect House Members from the lies, smears, and disgusting and outlandish attack ads the GOP will launch against them.

-- We need unprecedented support from folks like you.

We’re hopeful, but we know it’s going to be really difficult. It’s going to take an all-hands-on-deck effort to protect the Democratic House Majority. [[link removed]]

I’ll be frank, John: This is going to take lots of resources from grassroots donors. In order to kickstart our efforts, we’re looking for 1,000 founding donors to chip in to our Protect the Majority Fund by 11:59 tonight.
