2022 FUNDRAISING UPDATE
The first fundraising quarter just came to a close, and many of our congressional candidates are publishing their fundraising numbers.
Malcolm Kenyatta raised just over half a million dollars in his bid for the U.S. Senate [[link removed]] ! Malcom is also racking up endorsements from Pennsylvania politicos and national organizations alike. [[link removed]]
In Florida’s 13th Congressional District, Michele Rayner-Goolsby raised over $72,000 in the first two weeks of her campaign! [[link removed]]
Heather Mizeur outraised her opponent for Maryland’s 1st Congressional District, incumbent U.S. Congressman Andy Harris [[link removed]] , bringing in almost double his fundraising haul [[link removed]] .

DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS
More than 50 members of the Texas House fled the state earlier this week, preventing the remaining legislators from calling a quorum and passing a bill severely limiting the right to vote. [[link removed]]
Out LGBTQ state Rep. Celia Israel even postponed her wedding ceremony [[link removed]] , stating "I love this state so much. And things are really getting bad in Texas and we felt like it was important for us to put everything on a shelf, let's leave.” [[link removed]]
Rep. Israel also joined out LGBTQ state Rep. Erin Zwiener on MSNBC to explain why they left the state and their current efforts to lobby for voting rights on Capitol Hill [[link removed]] . The Texans have also been meeting with U.S. senators [[link removed]] to make their case for federal protections [[link removed]] .
