Hi John, This is an exciting time to be part of Save the Children Action Network (SCAN). From local school boards to state houses to Congress, our activists are on the ground and online, holding politicians accountable to prioritizing children. Sadly, 1 in 5 children are now living in war zones around the world. Beyond the horrible violence, hundreds of thousands of children are dying every year from indirect effects of conflict, such as malnutrition, disease and the breakdown of services. Unfortunately, the president proposed massive cuts to programs that help the most vulnerable children around the world. We can’t afford to ignore these kids and families right now. At a time when more children are suffering from the impact of war, the U.S. should not be cutting funding for programs that help them.
