New reporting shows that one-third of Republicans who have filed to run for Congress next year have spread Trump’s lies about the presidential election. This isn’t surprising, but it’s still scary.
Republicans are mad that they lost the White House in 2020. It was the first time a sitting president lost reelection in decades.
Instead of changing their policy positions to appeal to a bigger swath of the electorate, they’re laser-focused on changing the rules of the contest to ensure they can’t lose again. They are determined to erode the democratic foundations of our democracy by passing voter suppression measures.
