October 15, 2019: Forty-five percent (45%) of U.S. workers believe their next job will be better than their current job. A ScottRasmussen.com national survey found that 22% plan to retire from their current job and just 4% expect their next job to be worse.[1]
That optimistic assessment comes on top of yesterday’s Number of the Day showing that 83% rate their current job as good or excellent.
One reason for the optimism is that workers overwhelmingly believe they will decide when it’s time to move on. Seventy-two percent (72%) of workers believe the decision to leave will be their own while just 10% think their boss will decide. Six percent (6%) expect a mutual decision.
