Earlier this week, we got some great news: Senate Democrats put forth a $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package, and it includes two of the policies we've been rallying for together: a Clean Electricity Standard (CES) and a Civilian Climate Corps (CCC).

Activists across the climate movement have been pushing for these plans for years, and Joe Biden campaigned and won on them. This reconciliation bill is Senate Democrats' best chance to deliver on those promises, setting America on course for 100% clean electricity by 2035 and putting millions of Americans to work building climate solutions in their own communities.

In addition to a federal CES and CCC, we need major investments to address environmental injustice, and we need to eliminate all direct, taxpayer-funded handouts to fossil fuel corporations. Only then will American truly be on the path to a just, inclusive clean energy recovery.
