Friend -
I am a peace loving musician and quant (look it up you will find it amusing). I got into politics because I felt the calling to fight for justice for my people and all people in America who face injustice and racial discrimination. Why do I fight and not make music full time?
When General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, defends Critical Race Theory (CRT) and demands that it continue to be taught to everyone, is his leadership embraced by the Conservatives that appointed him? No! Tucker Carlson calls him a “pig” and “stupid”. Trump calls for his ouster.
Trump and his many acolytes such as Carlson rant and rage about the many autocracies that rule in our world today. They criticize and caution about “cancel culture”. But they are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. The reality is they cannot earn the trust of a nation by leading but must instill fear and portray “strong” leadership by insulting and silencing their opposition. Even from within their own Party.
I fight because these people will not be persuaded by reason. I fight because my people need to have their history understood and appreciated. I fight because it will only be based on the empowerment of our communities to stand together and demand justice and equality so that we can truly achieve democracy in America. If Carlson and Trump had their way we would have a Trump autocracy and the 100 year reign of the Republican Party without question and with lockstep acquiescence.
That is why I fight. That is why we created PowerPAC. I am a patriot and so is General Milley. We may disagree on numerous issues but one thing we do agree on is that CRT is critical for a democracy and to understand the people we fight for. We also understand that at the core of America is the freedom to debate and the promise that people can work with friends in an equal and safe environment.
Join us and help us fight. Fight for reasoned debate. Fight for community empowerment and equality. Fight for America’s promise and not Tucker Carlson’s American nightmare.
