Massive Protests Erupt as Thousands of Cubans March for ‘Liberty’

By: Zachary Mettler

Massive protests have erupted across Cuba as thousands have taken to the streets to march for "Liberty!"

Dozens of videos of the protests were quickly posted to social media platforms. By Monday morning,

concerns were rising that the Cuban government may limit access to the internet in an attempt to prevent the protests from spreading, and keep the outside world in the dark.

By Monday afternoon, those fears were realized. During one of the protests, "many people tried to take out their cellphones and broadcast the protest live, [but] Cuban authorities shut down internet service,"

Police Captain Spends Final Patrol Before Retirement with Rookie Son

By: Kennedy Unthank

The Mesquite Police Department in Mesquite, Texas, witnessed the end of a 33-year career for one of its police captains – and the start of a tour for another.

The catch – the

two are father and son .

Retiring Captain Paul Pecena spent his last day before retirement patrolling the city with Will, his 24-year-old son. Will graduated from the academy in July 2020, and because it was his father's last day, he was given permission to be his dad's final patrol partner. Leslie, Paul's wife and Will's mom, visited the police station to support both of them.

"I'm so proud of my husband and the job he has done," Leslie said in an

interview with WFAA, "And even more emotional about my son. But we need good men like him."

New Study Shows that Pro-Life Laws Are Effective at Stopping Abortions

By: Brittany Raymer

Will the roughly

100 pro-life bills introduced and passed this year help stop abortions? The short answer is yes, according to a new study released by JAMA Network Open, one of the nation's premiere health care journals. But it may result in a new problem as well.

A team of researchers at the radically pro-abortion University of California San Francisco (UCSF) recently concluded that distance makes a big impact on women choosing abortion.

According to the

study , "Among the 1948 counties included in the analysis, greater travel distances were associated with lower abortion rates in a dose-response manner … These findings suggest that greater travel distances to abortion services are associated with lower abortion rates. The results indicate which geographic areas have insufficient access to abortion care."

Teachers Pledge to Keep Teaching Critical Race Theory Despite Laws Banning it

By: Bruce Hausknecht

State laws and parental demands to keep Marxist ideology, in the form of Critical Race Theory, out of our schools have run into a small but growing

movement of teachers and administrators who have signed a public pledge to teach it anyway.

Critical Race Theory views American history through the lens of race, slavery, oppressors and the oppressed. According to

Brittanica.com , "Critical race theorists hold that the law and legal institutions in the United States are inherently racist insofar as they function to create and maintain social, economic, and political inequalities between whites and nonwhites, especially African Americans."

After parental objections at school board meetings in places such as

denying that they are teaching it. Even our

By: Zachary Mettler

Last year, Goya Foods announced that it was donating one million cans of Goya chickpeas and one million pounds of food to food banks to help families during the COVID-19 pandemic. In return for its good deed, some on the left

tried to "cancel " the company after its CEO, Robert Unanue, complimented former President Donald Trump at a press conference while announcing the donation.

Now, the company, which has a long history of giving, has announced a $2 million gift to combat human trafficking. The company is also launching a new initiative, Goya Cares, to raise awareness around the issue.

Unanue, alongside a host of other guests, announced the gift at The National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday morning.

"Let us bring the child back," Unanue said. "Our mission is to bring the child back to the center of our care and concern … All of us desire to be cared for and to care for others."
