Hi John,
A week from today! Our 17th annual Evening for the Environment is just one week away and we’re astounded by the interest and support pouring in. This is shaping up to be an incredible event.
We are delighted to welcome Gov. Janet Mills and to feature keynote speaker, Richard Louv [[link removed]] , author of the national bestseller Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder . His new book, Our Wild Calling: How Connecting With Animals Can Transform Our Lives – And Save Theirs , will be officially released on Nov. 5, 2019. Pre-release copies of this much-anticipated new book will be available for sale at next week’s event.
We will also present our annual Harrison L. Richardson Environmental Leadership Award, which will have two recipients this year. We’ll be honoring both The Maine Grocers and Food Producers Association and the Retail Association of Maine for their forward thinking efforts and partnership in supporting a ban on single-use plastic bags. This new law will go into effect across the state on Earth Day next year.
We’re also thrilled to feature Maine Beer Company [[link removed]] ’s “Woods & Waters IPA” and orchard-fresh cider to help us toast the environmental victories from the last legislative session. Appetizers, including a Maine potato bar will be available for all guests.
We hope that you’ll come meet and mingle at the state’s largest annual social gathering for Maine’s environmental community. Tickets are still available for purchase here >> [link removed] [[link removed]]
See you there!
