Nicaragua has enjoyed a reputation as one of Latin America's least violent countries, but severe criminal challenges remain. In a new investigation ([link removed]) , InSight Crime looks at how the country's foremost criminal networks have operated for years with support from political elites. The case study ([link removed]) of Henry Fariñas tells of how a drug trafficking network was quietly built from Colombia to Mexico, with help from police and judges.
