Folks, as the only U.S. Senator who has worked at Planned Parenthood, I know a thing or two about how hard it is for working parents to get by. I’m proud to say that this week, parents got a lot more help — give me a moment to explain.

Yesterday, the first monthly payments of our expanded Child Tax Credit were sent to over 90 percent of parents who have at least one child under 18.

To a nation where more than half of our people live paycheck to paycheck, this extra $250 to $300 per month for each child means everything — food, diapers, gas, clothing, baby formula, childcare, the list goes on. These payments will cut the child poverty rate in half.

But folks, this week is also important to keeping our Senate majority. Because yesterday, the FEC released fundraising reports for the last quarter to the public — and Mitch McConnell is looking for weaknesses wherever he can find them.
