Dear Friend,

If you haven't already, there's still time to add your name to our newspaper advert and help speak out against Boris Johnson's plans for a new nuclear arms race.

On 2nd October, the day before the Conservative Party conference begins, CND plans to publish a full-page advert in a national newspaper, making a clear statement that the Government's plan to increase the country's nuclear arsenal - in clear contravention of international law - is completely unacceptable.

Can you donate to help fund this? Make a donation and we'll add your name to our advert.

Earlier this year, the Government announced plans to increase the country's stockpile of nuclear warheads by over 40%. Boris Johnson wants to spend even more billions on nukes at a time when public-sector workers are facing pay freezes and nurses, frontline heroes of the pandemic, have been offered a pitiful 1% pay increase.

We should be investing in our NHS, in education, in renewable energy. We should be scrapping our warheads altogether, not increasing our arsenal.

Let's make sure that when the Conservative Party meets for its annual conference, it hears this message loud and clear. People don't want to see billions wasted on weapons of mass destruction.

Kate Hudson
General Secretary
