In America's most important military victory, not one shot was ever fired. No Americans were killed or wounded. In fact, the whole conflict ended quietly.

The victory? After decades of red-alert standoff, the United States and Russia ordered their nuclear forces to no longer target each other's cities in 1992. A nuclear war with the U.S.S.R. might have killed a hundred million or more people the first day alone. But it did not happen. Instead, America was left to prosper, and the Soviet Union collapsed.

Why did we win without a shot fired? From a military perspective, it was because we were SO MASSIVELY PREPARED FOR A FIGHT THAT THERE NEVER WAS ONE. Because the enemy had no doubt that if they launched a missile, it would cost them their whole country. Sometimes the greatest political victories are that NOTHING HAPPENS because our opponents don't dare take the risk.

Similarly, John, this is what we need our activists to do now: Put enormous pressure on their Members of Congress to convince them, and their party's leadership, that voting for a budget reconciliation resolution that includes amnesties will be ruinous to their political futures.

Yesterday, NumbersUSA launched a GIGANTIC ACTIVISM CAMPAIGN to make sure that an amnesty for millions more illegal aliens FAILS before it can even get off the launchpad. John, I need you and every single NumbersUSA citizen-activist to be completely invested in this effort. We must prepare and act now to win this victory!

As our president Roy Beck wrote in his email to all members yesterday (check your inbox!), progressive Democrats in Congress are trying to pass a series of ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTIES covering millions in a spending bill that only needs 50 votes in the Senate to pass instead of the usual super-majority of 60.

But they can only do it if they get every single Democrat to vote for the upcoming budget reconciliation resolution that would authorize trillions in new spending. If the amnesties are approved as part of the budget plan now, it will be extremely hard for us to stop them later.

As usual, our opponents have their best chance of success when the country is not paying attention, and attempts to quietly slip in amnesties as they are doing now, go unnoticed. They can only win in backroom deals that too few Americans even hear about. To defeat them, we have to make sure Members of Congress hear about little else between now and the vote, expected in two or three weeks.

How will we know we have won? Easy, NOTHING APPEARS TO HAPPEN! We scare off moderate Democrats (and any Republicans!) from supporting a budget reconciliation resolution that includes illegal-alien amnesties. So, we need a few of the moderates to tell their leaders that voters in their states oppose amnesties, that amnesties must be kept out of the resolution!

John, you want to help stop these huge amnesties, right? You know that the border crisis will be much more terrible once potential border-crossers hear that you can sneak into the U.S., steal jobs you don't deserve, and get a green card after a few years!!!
