Friend,

In case you missed it, there is an active effort underway within Beacon Hill's pay-to-play donor/lobbyist class to effectively "cancel" my chairmanship of the Massachusetts Republican Party.

I addressed the topic this morning during a radio interview:
An elite cabal of big-money donors, a list that includes real estate developers, lobbyists, and others more dedicated to currying influence on Beacon Hill than advancing Republican principles, has effectively put a bounty on my head: If I resign the chairmanship, they'll donate a combined $1 million to the party.

I'm disappointed and saddened to report that Governor Charlie Baker has sided with these elite donors and continues to turn his back on people like you who represent the backbone of the Massachusetts Republican Party.

Almost all of these donors haven't given the party so much as a dime since I was first elected chairman in 2019. In fact, most of them have given more to Democrats than to Republicans.

The power-brokers want to cancel me because my staff and I are working overtime to get tried-and-true Republicans elected to the state Legislature.
You should know we are actively building a statewide infrastructure consisting of Republican activists dedicated to putting the following issues on the 2022 election ballot:

  • Making voter ID a requirement in Massachusetts.
  • Keeping critical race theory out of our public schools.
  • Ensuring all newborns are guaranteed access to lifesaving medical care.

The legislature is ignoring the public, so we are using the ballot initiative process to make sure your voices are heard on Beacon Hill.

Now, more than ever, we need grassroots Republicans to step up and make a contribution. Every donation counts, and every donation -- no matter how small -- will help us put Republican principles in Massachusetts ahead of the elite special interests class.

Thank you for your continued support!

Yours,
Jim Lyons
Chairman, Massachusetts Republican Party
PS: Due to the urgency of this topic, we are delaying the release of our critical race theory poll results. We plan to share those results with you tomorrow. If you haven't yet, there's still time to make your voice heard by taking our survey.
