plan to cut child poverty in the United States in half is now in
motion.
Today nearly every American family with children will begin
receiving monthly payments of up to $300 per child for the next
year — a policy that Rosa fought for in Congress over the past 18
years.

Governor Lamont joined Rosa yesterday to celebrate this new
policy and highlight its impact on Connecticut families. By
expanding the Child Tax Credit and making payments monthly for
most American families, millions of American children will be
lifted from poverty.
Of course, this new tax cut doesn't help the wealthiest Americans
— so naturally, all Republicans voted against it.
The CT Democratic Party is focused on mobilizing support for
Democrats before the upcoming midterm elections to ensure that
