Hi John,
Texas Democratic legislators are undertaking an incredible mission to protect not just Texans' freedom to vote, but all of ours.
If you haven't heard, Texas Republicans called a special session to pass a slew of extreme conservative bills, including an anti-voter superbill that would make Jim Crow blush. After it became clear over the weekend that Republicans had no interest in working with Democrats for the good of Texas, Democrats made the courageous choice to deny a quorum and head to D.C. to demand Congress protect our freedom to vote from attacks like those in Texas.
It's taking them away from their families, with no pay, for an uncertain amount of time.
Far from home, they're racking up
serious costs for hotels, food, travel, and childcare. Today, we're asking this incredible community to chip in whatever you can to our Run for Something alums -- James Talarico, John Bucy, Jessica Gonzal?z, Erin Zwiener, and Jasmine Crockett -- so they can keep fighting for progress.
Please show them the love and support they've earned as defenders of our democratic values and champions of the progressive movement. Split a donation amongst their campaigns and support their fight to protect our freedom to vote.
As a Texan, I could not be prouder of the Texas grit our alums are showing. This is why electing diverse, young progressives matters.
Thank you,
Ross Morales Rocketto

P.S. I had to share this photo of RFS Alum state Rep. Erin Zwiener and her daughter Lark meeting with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand yesterday. Erin had to bring Lark to D.C. while her husband stays in Texas for his job to pay their bills. Our alums are making real sacrifices to defend our freedom to vote.
