A lack of investment in our care economy has left seniors and people with disabilities without the ability to stay in their homes and stay active in their communities. At the same time, care workers have long been underpaid―disproportionately impacting women and people of color.

Rep. Debbie Dingell and Sen. Bob Casey have introduced the Better Care Better Jobs Act to strengthen and expand access to Medicaid home- and community-based care services, and provide better pay and benefits for the direct care workforce.

Large coverage gaps currently exist for seniors and people with disabilities, with each state setting a cap on the number of individuals who can receive these critical services. This legislation will enhance Medicaid funding for home- and community-based care services (HCBS) if states expand access and strengthen their HCBS workforce.

Sign the petition and call on Congress to include the Better Care Better Jobs Act in the forthcoming reconciliation package.

This bill helps fulfill President Biden’s commitment to investing in our care economy, which provides dignity to seniors and people with disabilities, keeps people active in their communities, and ensures economic stability for some of our lowest-paid workers.
