My friend Katie Hill asked me to reach out and give you an update about our fight in Congress to deliver on our progressive agenda, and to tell you why we need you with us in this fight.
The American people elected us and expect that we will deliver on our promises. That’s why, every day, I’m working to reform the immigration system, make healthcare universal through Medicare for All, and fight climate change by passing a Green New Deal.
But Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have made it clear they will govern from the minority by using the filibuster to prevent us from moving forward and passing any major legislation that will help American families.
That’s why I’m more convinced than ever that we should eliminate the filibuster immediately.
Ending the filibuster in the Senate and maintaining our majority in the House is the best shot Democrats have to deliver on our bold progressive agenda. I refuse to let Republicans block our progress. But I can’t do it alone.
