Help FAIR Celebrate 35 Years—And Keep Us Going for at Least 35 More!
Dear FAIR Family,
This month, FAIR is celebrating our 35th birthday. In the words of our founder Jeff Cohen, “Not many progressive nonprofits endure 35 years, but FAIR has survived and thrived.”
From Iran/Contra to the rise of Trumpism, we're still here today because of YOU. For 35 years, we’ve relied on our readers, not ads or political money, to help us fight corporate disinformation.
FAIR’s work over the years has steadfastly uncovered corporate media bias, and given a voice to progressive viewpoints often pushed off of corporate outlets’ pages and screens. But mass media aren't becoming any less conglomerated. In recent years, we’ve seen it continue to both-sides every issue, even as the right becomes increasingly violent and anti-democratic, with little pushback from establishment Democrats. In short, we believe FAIR’s work is becoming even more necessary.
In recent weeks, we’ve covered US interventionism in Central America as a root cause of migration to the border; the US government’s censorship abroad; the continuously unfolding perils of climate change; widely ignored developments in the cases of whistleblowers Julian Assange and Steven Donziger; and slave labor by food giant Nestle.
It’s the generous support of donors like you that help us spread knowledge in formats accessible to all—through our website; Extra!, our print newsletter; and our radio show and podcast CounterSpin.
Since the beginning of the month, we’ve received about $3,000 of our $15,000 goal. It’s a good start, but we still have $12,000 left to go to meet our goal by the end of the month!
