Dear John — In 2020, the It Gets Better Project set out to film a new web series profiling four out LGBTQ+ athletes as they prepared for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020. Then the pandemic forced the Olympic Games to be postponed until 2021. Thankfully, the incredible athletes featured in “Passion Power Performance” kept training, laser-focused on success — and they allowed us to continue to share their stories. Chelsea Wolfe (BMX rider), Courtney Ryan (wheelchair basketball), Michael Gunning (swimming) and Izzy Cerullo (rugby) are all forging a path as incredibly gifted athletes and representatives of the LGBTQ+ community. Now, see how they got to where they are today and how they prepared — mentally, physically, and emotionally — for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. “Passion Power Performance” is a co-production between Procter & Gamble and the It Gets Better Project. We hope you enjoy!
