This introductory level course is for policy makers, funders, community members, community planners and anyone interested specifically in limited equity housing cooperatives. Learn more about the co-op model and the cooperative movement in this participatory course. Affordable housing cooperatives play a critical role in homeownership opportunities especially in dense urban areas where single-family homes are out of reach for low- and moderate-income people. Housing cooperatives can not only provide lasting affordability, but also create community among members, encourage resource sharing and significantly reduce the carbon footprint of its residents.
