Folks,
The Free Britney movement -- sparking rallies in every corner of our country -- has highlighted yet another gross injustice in our judicial system.
One of the best-selling artists of all-time, Britney Spears, has been prohibited from making her own financial and reproductive choices due to being under a restrictive conservatorship.
Under a conservatorship, an appointed guardian makes all physical, mental, and financial health decisions for an individual when they are deemed by a court of law to be unable to do so.
This conservatorship has gone far beyond the bounds of reason -- Britney hasn’t been able to make any substantive life decisions for herself in 13 years, giving her father full discretion of her career, medical decisions, and vast fortune.
During this time, Britney has headlined global tours, released four hit albums, and performed a four-year residency show right here in Las Vegas. She is capable, talented, and determined.
We recently learned that Britney has quietly tried to end her conservatorship for years when she bravely spoke out in court just a couple of weeks ago. However, she has since been denied, yet again, a release from this de facto prison.
The level of control that has been placed on Britney’s life is reprehensible, and frankly -- un-American.
So we’re asking 25,000 people to add their name in support of Britney Spears and her fight to end her restrictive conservatorship -- Will you?
Thank you for taking a stand,
Team Sisolak
