Today, I signed an executive order to protect Minnesotans from conversion therapy, a dangerous practice that harms LGBTQ+ youth and vulnerable adults. 

Minnesotans deserve to live in a state that values them for who they are – not one that tries to change them. This order reflects the medical consensus that conversion therapy is not a medical treatment and directs the Department of Health to ensure that it is not covered by state healthcare programs or private insurers in Minnesota.

This is a significant and important first step forward. But Republicans in the Minnesota legislature continue to stand in the way of legislation to ban the cruel and discredited practice once and for all.

That’s why I’m hoping you’ll join me and raise your voice today: Add your name and tell the Minnesota GOP to stop blocking a permanent ban on conversion therapy.
