Friend,

In a moment, I'm going to explain why the DeanTeam and I keep asking for money. But first, I have to tell you: Our mid-month deadline is fast approaching, and we're just $2,064 away from our $5,000 goal. Will you chip in before midnight to get us there?

Here's why I ask: Running for Congress, and staying in Congress, is expensive. Candidates who are willing to take big checks from corporate PACs and lobbyists can raise money hand over fist -- and they do.

This "political industrial complex" gives big donors an outsize say in who goes to Congress and what they do once they get there. And that, in turn, wears down people's faith in government.

But together, we're changing this story. Throughout my campaigns, I've refused to accept even a dime from corporate PACs, lobbyists, or other members of Congress -- and we've won each time thanks to supporters just like you.

The more we raise during these fundraising drives, the more it shows other members of Congress that it's possible to win elections without giving in to the political industrial complex.

So I'm humbly asking for your support again today. Like I said, we're only $2,064 away from our $5,000 mid-month goal. Will you rush a few dollars now to get us across the finish line?

Thanks so much,
