And in the last few weeks, we’ve seen record-breaking temperatures, droughts, tropical storms, and electrical outages pummel our communities and homes from coast to coast. Climate change is not a problem of the future: it’s here now, and Congress has a huge opportunity to do something about it.

Right now, Democrats in Congress are working through a process called “budget reconciliation,” to be able to pass a bold and equitable infrastructure package without GOP obstruction. This is a historic opportunity that we can’t miss. We can stop climate change in its tracks, create millions of good jobs and homes, support care workers, and change the tide on growing inequality.
As a member of the Green New Deal Network, these are just a handful of our key priorities for the infrastructure package:
Right now, the Senate is moving forward with their proposal for the budget reconciliation package – but we still have room to push them and the House to invest in climate, care, jobs, and justice to the fullest extent possible.
