Mitch McConnell has made blocking our progressive agenda his sole mission, filibustering critical bills without so much as a vote or even a debate. Since Republicans seem entirely uninterested in passing any legislation, Democrats must stop compromising to right-wing interests and move forward passing bold, progressive legislation on our own.

To that, I say: I am ready.

Because we hold majorities in both chambers, we can get right to work. Through reconciliation, the Democratic Senate can circumvent the Jim Crow filibuster and pass bills with a simple majority — and finally vote on key priorities that we have already passed through the House.

We have a lot of work to get done for the American people — updating our country’s infrastructure, addressing childcare costs, remedying the climate crisis, passing Medicare for All, legalizing and decriminalizing cannabis, and so much more.

I’m committed to doing whatever it takes to deliver for working families. And John, your grassroots support allows me to focus on what matters most in Washington rather than dedicating time to fundraising.
