URGENT: We need 200 people from YOUR state to contact their U.S. Senator TODAY!

John — Thousands of care workers, advocates, and supporters came together in Washington, DC on Tuesday morning for the #CareCantWait day of action to highlight the need for a $400 billion investment in home and community-based services to strengthen the care workforce.

Together, we illustrated the urgent need to make care jobs good jobs with family-sustaining wages, benefits, training, and a pathway to citizenship.

Our day of action was powerful and we know that this is our moment for change, to build a lasting and transformative care infrastructure. Join our movement and write your Senators today, urging them to support the Care Is Essential campaign [[link removed]] .

We're reaching out to YOU specifically, John, because YOUR state is a key state in our campaign.

If you've already taken action and sent a letter, please send another one [[link removed]] ! We have to keep the pressure on so that Congress knows we aren't giving up until care workers receive the support they need and deserve.

Care is a cornerstone of our economy, at the center of our communities and everyday life. That’s why we must invest in and value care for the essential work that it is . Doing so can help create an economic recovery that is swift, equitable and benefits all of us.

Our Care is Essential campaign calls for $400 billion to expand access to home care services, create over 1 million new home care jobs, increase wages and benefits and give workers a stronger voice on the job.

This critical investment would not only lead to increased critical home care services to people with disabilities and aging adults so they can live with dignity at home but would also finally acknowledge the central role care workers — predominantly Black, Latina, and Asian immigrant women — play in powering our economy in times of stability and crisis.

Greater investment in the professional development of underpaid and underemployed caregivers and immigrant care workers will lead to job gains for everyone and provide the highest standards of care for those who need it. It is up to all of us to ensure elected leaders across the board hear us and respond to our calls for change. Contact your senator TODAY and urge them to support bringing more jobs to our economy by supporting the Care Is Essential campaign. [[link removed]]

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
