Hey John, I have some good news.

When Democrats took full control of Congress and the White House last year, we promised to clean up the mess that Donald Trump left us. That has meant dispersing millions of coronavirus vaccines, passing a massive economic stimulus bill, and now ensuring that more financial assistance is coming to families with children.

Today, the IRS will begin disbursing payments as part of the expanded child tax credit. It’s expected that more than 36 million households will be receiving checks or direct deposits every month through December.

If Republicans were in control of Congress, this wouldn’t have gotten off the ground. Will you contribute to our 2022 fund so we can keep the House and continue passing more legislation like this that directly helps Americans?

When I speak to folks in my district, I hear their frustration with how slow the government works. This year has been proof that when Democrats are in control, we can move quickly to help working families.

Republicans want to give tax breaks to corporations, while Democrats are lifting families out of poverty. President Biden has indicated that he’d like to make the expanded tax credit payments permanent. We can do that if Democrats maintain and expand our majority.

If Republicans win in 2022, they will stop at nothing to halt the checks going into bank accounts. Will you chip in today so we can make these monthly payments permanent for millions of households around the country?

Always fighting for you,

— Hank Johnson
