Dear John,
Pietro calf is getting bigger by the day, but he’s still a baby. He loves to cuddle—and sometimes, he’ll even suckle our fingers.
It’s a sweet gesture but it’s also bittersweet because Pietro should be nursing from his mom. But he can’t, because the dairy industry broke them apart.
This month, Farm Sanctuary and plant-based cheese company Treeline Cheese are working to keep more families together—they’ve matched all donations towards Pietro’s care, up to $10,000!
Will you make a gift to support Pietro and help more cows in his honor? There’s still time to “adopt” Pietro with a one-time $35 gift through our Adopt a Farm Animal Program.
Your symbolic adoption will help fund Pietro’s daily care at Farm Sanctuary. In gratitude, we’ll send you his digital adoption certificate. It’s a great way to celebrate Pietro’s new life and to further assist Farm Sanctuary’s work in healing other cows harmed by the dairy industry.

Mother cows make milk to feed their babies (like Pietro)—not humans. Sadly, the dairy industry takes these fragile children away so that it can take the milk instead. Most boys are raised for veal or cheap beef; others are killed outright. Girls are impregnated year after year until their bodies wear out and they’re sent to slaughter, too.
But there are kinder alternatives to dairy production—and Pietro’s life is worth it.
Please “adopt” Pietro now to support a way of life that lets these cows live, too.
Love,
Farm Sanctuary

Pietro is so perky, even when he was in his cone! Help him continue on his road to recovery.
