Life is worth living. Every life deserves protection from conception to natural death. At Texas Right to Life we strive to combat the anti-Life forces in our culture, society, and laws.
The Texas Right to Life Political Action Committee (PAC) alters the landscape of the fight for Life in local, state, and federal governments. We identify great Pro-Life candidates and help voters elect truly Pro-Life leaders.
Through endorsements, political mailers, volunteer organizing, block-walking door-to-door, and video and radio ad campaigns, the PAC has helped elect strong advocates for Life to positions where they are able to make a difference.
Very recently our PAC worked to help Representative Shelby Slawson defeat former Representative J.D. Sheffield.
For years House District 59 in central Texas was represented in the legislature by Sheffield, a liberal pro-abortion Republican who falsely claimed to be Pro-life. Sheffield would constantly oppose Pro-Life bills, voted in favor of late-term abortions nine times, and even claimed that late-term abortion was a good way for babies with disabilities to be “dealt with.”

Shelby Slawson had the courage to challenge Sheffield, and we recognized her strong potential from the very start of her campaign.
We put our full support behind her and got to work. Tens of thousands of advertisements were mailed to homes and broadcasted to voters. We even created and mailed two newspapers exposing Sheffield’s lies and voting record, and advocating for Slawson.

When the dust from the race had settled, Slawson emerged victorious by a huge margin. Thanks to our election efforts, the people of House District 59 rejected the liberal Sheffield and voted for someone who truly represents their Pro-Life Texas values.
As a confident and determined state representative Slawson championed the Texas Heartbeat Act on the House floor. Slawson stood strong against a barrage of attacks from anti-Lifers, and ensured that the bill was passed in our Texas House of Representatives. Slawson helped to ensure the Texas Heartbeat Act was ultimately signed into law by the governor.

The Texas Right to Life PAC was crucial in Slawson getting to Austin, and stood with her when so many did not. Because of her election victory she was able to stand in defense of all the tiny Texans still in the womb.
Our role in Slawson’s victory is but one example of the countless wins that we’ve had throughout the past election cycles. We intend to have more wins, as there are still many bad representatives, like Sheffield, who need to be taken out. But we need your help!
