But we also talked about our favorite movies, TV shows, and so much more. I’m glad Vedika had as much fun as I did. It's moments like these that keep me inspired and motivated during long days on the campaign trail.

At first, Cory asked me about my background and where I went to school. But this was my shot to spend an hour with Cory Booker, and I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to ask him the hard-hitting questions the people deserve to know. I wanted to talk about our favorite movies and TV shows -- and he couldn’t have been more excited to indulge me in that.
During our lunch, we covered everything -- from who his favorite Supernatural character is, to how much he enjoyed Avengers: Endgame, to how we both cried when we watched the movie Love, Simon -- It. Was. Amazing.
We even shared the same take that Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the greatest shows of all time. But my favorite moment? Cory took my phone and called my mom.

It was so awesome and an experience I’ll never forget. Of course, Cory is this genius and can talk about politics like no other. But what makes a meal with him really special is that he's just a genuinely fun, down-to-earth guy.
