Meet Chaz
Chaz Gates is a native of Dallas, TX and currently serves as Legal Counsel at Texas Instruments (“TI”), where he focuses on corporate, data privacy, cybersecurity, ecommerce and marketing & advertising law. He previously worked as a Legislative Assistant where he focused on trade, defense/homeland security and foreign affairs (Asia). During that time, Chaz received his MA in Government from John Hopkins, with a focus on the U.S.-China trade relationship. His congressional and graduate school experiences led him to work in Shanghai, China as a Lecturer of Western Culture at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. A “fun fact” is that Chaz speaks Mandarin. In addition to his MA from Johns Hopkins, Chaz holds a BA from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a JD from American University. He volunteers with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas and he and his wife are expecting their first baby this Fall.
What is your favorite MavPAC memory?
My favorite memory took place during 2019 MAVCON in NYC when I had the opportunity to tour the 9/11 Museum with Congressman Kelly Armstrong (ND). It was a great opportunity to speak candidly with the Congressman; sharing ideas around policy and current events.
What makes MavPAC special?
What makes MavPAC special is how it not only operates democratically as a PAC in support of certain candidates but also serves as a national network for like-minded young conservative business leaders. It’s hard to find another organization like it.
Favorite rising GOP star?
I can’t choose just one – Tim Scott and Beth Van Duyne.
