On Wed 21 July, Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue and Nottingham City Homes are joining together to tackle the issues that you have said are a problem in your neighbourhood. We will be:
- Carrying out additional Police patrols
- Deep cleaning some streets in Carrington
- Tackling car idling and inconsiderate parking
- Offering free fire safety checks
- Focusing on litter, flytipping and anti-social behaviour hotspots
Join in!
- Community Litter Pick - meet opposite Gladstone Pub, Loscoe Road at 10.15am
- Community Drop-in - at Pirate Park, Loscoe Road at 3-6pm. Meet your local Councillors and neighbourhood team and give your views on refurbishment plans for the Carrington underpass
For further information or to suggest any other ideas or locations for the next Day of Action please contact Leigh Plant, Neighbourhood Development Officer on 07701 049987 or any of the Councillors.
When we carried out the traffic safety survey, you told us that you were concerned over the speed of traffic along Haydn Road. In 2019, Councillors allocated funding for phase 1 of reducing speeds by installing two Vehicle Activated signs.
This has helped, but we would like to do more to reduce speeds on the way into the busy shopping area on Haydn Road, as well as creating safe locations for pedestrians to cross the road. Alongside the traffic calming, there are also proposals for a sustainable drainage scheme.
See the plans online and have your say
Local residents have told us that they are already starting to see new and different wildlife as a result of the Blue-Green Infrastructure Project on Valley Road – realigning the river channel.
If you haven’t visited yet, please do – it’s a great opportunity to see the change in this park as the seeds and trees planted this spring start to develop. 🌼
