Late last night, Senate Budget Committee Democrats announced their plans to expand Medicare to include dental, vision, and hearing benefits in the next budget reconciliation package. This is a significant step forward – and it wouldn’t have been possible without relentless organizing.
But we’re not across the finish line yet. We must fight to ensure that the final reconciliation bill includes full coverage of dental, vision, and hearing benefits, and, we must keep demanding that Congress include provisions to allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices, lower the eligibility age to 60, and include an out-of-pocket cap. We have an opportunity to expand and improve health care for millions of people now if we take action.

I’m calling to urge Sens. Casey and Toomey to support Medicare improvements and expansion in the budget reconciliation package. Specifically:
1) Allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drugs to lower drug prices.

These policies aren’t a replacement for Medicare for All, which we continue to fight for every day, but they do represent an immediate opportunity to improve millions of lives. And by improving and expanding Medicare, we can immediately begin to take on the greed of the private insurance and pharmaceutical industries.
